I don’t smoke or bite my fingernails frantically. I also don’t try to make much of a habit of anything because I enjoy variety way too much. But there is one ‘habit’ that I could do without, and that is going to bed too late on weeknights. (Weekends are another story). This directly stems from a need to take time out for myself each day and my desire to always be doing something whether it be touching base with friends overseas, writing, reading or learning. But I’m not going to say that I wish I didn’t always want to learn more about stuff. I just wish I didn’t want to learn about stuff late at night!
The time that I go to sleep is also directly correlated to how much I have on the next day. If I don’t have much on, I’ll go to bed earlier, but if I have lots to do the next day, I’ll go to sleep between 1.30 and 2.30am. It’s not particularly logical but the reason is valid. If I don’t have much on the next day, I know that I’ll have lots of ‘me’ time. If the day is looking chocka, I need to take time out for myself the night before.
I can’t see a way to fix this so I accept it, but it would be nice to be one of those people who can go to bed at 10pm.
